The Matter of the Image. On Raw Materials, Lego, and Outer Space, 2013 –

An iconographic flow – currently presented as a performance lecture including slides and video material – traces evidence of powerful relationsships between mining industry, space discourse, and educational narratives. It becomes palpable that their contemporary projections are built upon cultural concepts which emerged in the time of European romanticism. Appropriated by the technological-industrial complex of today, they serve to craft edutainment content for coopting children as the coming generation of technophiles.
